Article Abstract:
The types of art objects which performed well in 1995 included English furniture, especially from the 18th century, according to Phillips, an auctioneer. Flemish and Dutch Old Masters also performed well, as did Meissen ceramics. Old Masters are likely to continue to be popular, and Post War abstracts should also perform well. Vintage radios and TV sets should perform well in the collectables category. Items fresh to the market, of good quality and in good condition are likely to perform well.

Trade fairs
Article Abstract:
Trade fairs for works of art are geared to attract the general public dealers aim to use them to market their goods. Visitors are admitted through tickets and can take time to decide on a purchase, which is not the case in an auction. They can also buy without being as visible as they would be at an auction. There are more pitfalls for investors at local trade fairs than at the larger fairs, but investors can also find bargains at local trade fairs.
