When support levels fail - investors get twitchy
Article Abstract:
Charting is a method of analysis which can be used by investors to select stocks. Bearish phases can be forecast when major stocks see breaks in their support levels, and when stock price upseide breakouts do not succeed. Bull phases are characterized by breaks above ceilings, and new ceilings being created. False upside breaks can be noted as a pattern in stock prices in 1999, and there are bearish signals in the market, using analyses of the Dow Jones Industrial Average and FTSE 100 index.

Turning around
Article Abstract:
Russian stock prices rose to Sep 1997 but there are concerns that a correction could be underway. The stock market has benefited from improved liquidity, economic optimism and more political confidence. Russia aims to tacle the problem of bandit capitalism. Accounting standards and disclosure levels are poor which means that it is difficult to value equities in Russia. A correction may occur but the timing is not easy to assess.
