Wierd and wacky fledgling companies
Article Abstract:
Smaller companies on the Ofex and Aim markets may be perceived as highly risky investments, but they can also be rewarding investments. Many companies on these markets offer stakes in services and products not supplied by more established companies, such as table dancing and celebrity board games. Aim companies include Clipper Ventures, a company based on a round-the world sailing event, while Ofex companies include Seal Ice, which produces and sells ice to airlines. pubs and supermarkets.

Article Abstract:
ABN-AMRO Hoare Govett sees a possible drop in United Kingdom stock prices. Prices have risen in part because interest rates are perceived to be close to their peak but this may prove too optimistic. Strong domestic demand could lead to a rise in base rates to 7.5%. Corporate earnings could be affected if pound sterling rises in value as interest rates rise and German interest rates stay low. This means that earnings growth may not offset high stock price valuations.
