A combined solid-state NMR and diffraction study of the structures and acidity of fluorinated aluminas: implications for catalysts
Article Abstract:
The structures of a series of pristine and Zn(super 2+)-impregnated aluminas are investigated following fluorination with HF, by using both solid-state NMR and X-ray powder diffraction methods. It is demonstrated that the structural chemistry of fluorinated aluminas is dependent on the starting material, the presence of transition-metal cations, and the nature of the fluorinating agent.
