A multisolute osmotic virial equation for solutions of interest in biology
Article Abstract:
The multisolute osmotic virial equation is employed to predict the osmolalities of various solutions that are used in biology, by studying all the interactions between the identical solute molecules for all the solutions. The methodology used has proved to be extremely helpful, as it provides information about the osmolality of the ternary solutions, as well as pure species without any additional information.

Contribution of the loss of nanocrystal ligands to interdot coupling in films of small CdSe/1-thioglycerol nanocrystals
Article Abstract:
The evolution of the exciton absorption spectrum and the infrared absorption of ligands during the formation of arrays of CdSe nanocrystals capped by 1-thioglycerol (TG) are compared. The results indicate that much of the interdot coupling observed for small CdSe nanocrystals is the result of loss of a substantial fraction of these TG ligands.

Inertial suppression of protein dynamics in a binary glycerol-trehalose glass
Article Abstract:
The dynamics of a hydrated protein encased in glycerol, unary trehalose and binary glycerol-trehalose glasses are investigated by using molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. It is found that the inertia of the glassy matrix is an influential factor in the determination of pharmaceutically relevant formulations.
