Instant activism!
Article Abstract:
The Internet revolution has undoubtedly made it easy to for the agriculture industry to advertise the advantages of biotechnologically engineered crops. However, the Internet also provides a formidable infrastructure for activists to wage a broadbased, easy, silent, public relations battle against biotech-based agriculture. Anti-biotechnology forces can easily organize consumer discontent and launch electronic mail opposition campaigns targeting multinationl food firms using the Internet World Wide Web.
