Biasing mixed-valence transition metal complexes in search of bistable complexes for molecular computing
Article Abstract:
Mixed-valence ruthenium complexes as possible quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) devices are discussed and three different mixed-valence ruthenium complexes are investigated for the purpose. These mixed-valence complexes show significant polarization when a biasing charge is added to the system.

Fabrication and structural characteristics of ordered TiO(sub 2)-Ru(-RuO(sub 2)) nanorods in porous anodic alumina films on ITO/glass substrate
Article Abstract:
The microstructures of the nanorod arrays are investigated using field-emission scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The chemical states of the titanium and ruthenium elements in the nanorods are analyzed and structural characteristics are studied.
