Chemisorption of CO2 on nickel surfaces
Article Abstract:
CO2 chemisorption on the Ni(111), Ni(100), and Ni(110) surfaces is investigated at the level of density functional theory. The ability of CO2 chemisorption is in order of Ni(110) > Ni(100) > Ni(111) where CO2 has exothremic chemisorption on Ni(110) and endothermic chemisorption on Ni(111) while it is thermally neutral on Ni(100).

Structural characterization of nickel oxide nanowires by x-ray absorption near-edge structure spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
The local Ni environment is characterized using x-ray absorption near-edge spectroscopy and the electronic structure is identified. The lattice distortion is determined through the analysis of the characteristic preedge features and the multiple scattering structures detected in the x-ray absorption near-edge structure spectra.

Nickel hydroxide "stacks of pancakes" obtained by the coupled effect of ammonia and template agent
Article Abstract:
The study demonstrates the effect of a homemade nickel di-dodecyl precursor and a complexing base that leads to beta-Ni-(OH)2 'stacks of pancakes' morphology. The mean diameter and thickness of the stacks are around 300 and 200 nm, respectively.
