Comparative study of homogeneous and heterogeneous photocatalytic redox reactions: PW(sub 12) O(sub 40)(super 3-) vs TiO(sub 2)
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to compare various photocatalytic oxidation and reduction reactions of polyxometalates and TiO2 in water to demonstrate that the two photocatalysts are very different in many ways. The study suggests that surface chemical reactions of substrates and intermediates, which are absent in POM reactions, play an important role in photocatalytic degradation reactions.

Effect of the anchoring group in Ru-bipyridyl sensitizers on the photoelectrochemical behavior of dye-sensitized TiO2 electrodes: Carboxylate versus phosphonate linkages
Article Abstract:
The effect of the number of anchoring groups in Ru-bipyridyl complexes on their binding to TiO2 surface and the photoelectrochemical performance of the sensitized TiO2 electrodes are systematically investigated. Although C4 exhibited the lowest visible light absorption, C4-TiO2 electrode showed the best cell performance and stability among C-TiO2 electrodes.

On the propagation rate of the chemical waves observed during the course of CO oxidation on a Ag/Pt (110) composite surface
Article Abstract:
The propagation rate of the chemical waves observed during the course of CO oxidation on an Ag/ Pt (110) composite surface are analyzed. The rate equation clearly suggests that eh observed chemical wave results from the coupling between adjacent surfaces with different catalytic activities during the course of heterogeneous catalysts.
