Freezing and melting of nitrogen, carbon monoxide, and krypton in a single cylindrical pore
Article Abstract:
X-ray diffraction has been used to analyze the freezing and melting behaviour, and the structures of the frozen solid, of nitrogen, carbon monoxide and krypton confined in MCM-41 adsorbents with well-defined pore radii.

Comparative study of liquid-solid phase transition of nitrogen in controlled pore glass and SBA-15: accurate pore size of conventional mesoporous materials
Article Abstract:
A comparative study of the origin of the discrepancies in pore size dependences of the melting temperature of the confined solids and the hysteresis temperature of the gas-liquid-phase transitions between conventional mesoporous materials and mesoporous molecular sieves are presented. The result confirm the discrepancies in characteristic temperature shifts between the conventional mesoporous materials and the mesoporous molecular sieves inferred from a comparison of the literature data for the two types of adsorbents.

Freezing and melting of methyl chloride in a single cylindrical pore: anomalous pore-size dependence of phase-transition temperature
Article Abstract:
Research is presented describing the use of X-ray diffraction to examine both the structure of, and the freezing and melting behaviour of, methyl chloride confined in MCM-41 absorbents with well defined pore radii.
