Cosolvent effects on the micellization of oxyphenyl(copoly)ethylene oxide copolymers in aqueous solution
Article Abstract:
The micellization properties of two polyoxyethylene block copolymers with the same hydrophobic block length and different molecular architectures in mixed solvents formed by water and different amounts of ethanol is studied and ethanol is investigated as a cosolvent in solutions of several Pluronic copolymers. Fluorescence data has shown that the addition of ethanol to the solution decreases the polarity, favoring the solubilization of the oxyphenylethylene chains in the mixed solvent as single monomers.

Surfactant/Nonionic copolymer interaction: A SLS, DLS, ITC, and NMR investigation
Article Abstract:
A study is performed on the interaction between an oxyphenylethylene-oxyethylene nonionic diblock copolymer with the anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate in dilute aqueous solutions by static and dynamic light scattering, isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), and (super 13)C and self-diffusion nuclear magnetic resonance techniques. These interactions give rise to a strong decrease in both light scattering intensity and hydrodynamic radius of the mixed micelles.

Amyloid fibril formation and other aggregate species formed by human serum albumin association
Article Abstract:
The formation of amyloid fibrils in the plasma protein human serum albumin under different in vitro conditions monitored using a combination of spectrophotometric and microscopic techniques is reported. Experimental data reveal the existence of other protein-aggregated species than fibrils, some of which seem to be formed by a structural rearrangement of the proper fibrils.
