Crystalline polymorphism and molecular structure of sodium pravastatin
Article Abstract:
A new polymorph of sodium pravastatin and a new crystallization process that overcomes the possible industrial scaling and environmental difficulties are reported. The quantum mechanical calculations of pravastatin molecule are reported, where their molecular structure might be similar to that in the crystal lattice of the pravastatin tert-octylamonium and sodium salts.

Crystallization of calcium carbonate observed in-situ by combined small- and wide-angle x-ray scattering
Article Abstract:
The transformation of amorphous colloidal calcium carbonate into single microcrystals was observed in supersaturated solutions in situ by simultaneous time-resolved small-angle and wide-angle X-ray scattering experiments (TR-SAXS/WAXS). TR-SAXS/WAXS demonstrates that the particles generated by reaction of Ca(super 2+) and CO(sub 3)(super 2-) ions are amorphous.
