Degussa subsumed into Evonik Industries

German state-owned company RAG has been rebranded into Evonik Industries, and the names of its subsidi aries such as specialty chemicals firm Degussa will disappear. Evonik's new logo and trademark have been unveiled, with deep purple as its new corporate color. Factors leading to t he company's name change is discussed.
