Conformational analysis of sulfate species on Ag/Al(sub 2)O(sub 3) by means of theoretical and experimental vibration spectra
Article Abstract:
The formation and configuration of sulfate species on Ag/Al(sub 2)O(sub 3) were studied by means of in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy (DRIFTS) and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The experimental results revealed the formation of sulfate species on Ag and Al(sub 2)O(sub 3) sites, and showed that the IR band underwent an obvious blue shift along with the increase of sulfate species surface concentration.

Chiral self-dimerization of vanadium complexes on a SiO2 surface for asymmetric catalytic coupling of 2-naphthol: Structure, performance, and mechanism
Article Abstract:
Vanadium monomers with chiral tridentate Schiff-base ligands were supported in SiO2 through a chemical reaction with surface silanols, where a new chirality creation by the self-dimerization of the vanadyl complexes on the surface was found. The chiral self-dimerization and the role of surface silanols in the self-assembly are investigated.
