Electronic structure of methoxy-, bromo-, and nitrobenzene grafted onto Si(111)
Article Abstract:
The properties of Si(111) surface grafted with benzene derivatives are investigated using the materials nitro-, bromo-, and methoxybenzene layers deposited from diazonium salt solution in a potentiostatic electrochemical process. The analysis of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy intensities clearly proves multilayer formation for bromo- and nitrobenzene in agreement with the amount of charge transferred during the grafting process, while formation of only a sub-monolayer coverage for methoxybenzne.

Effect of pH on the adsorption and activity of creatine phosphokinase
Article Abstract:
The combination of in situ ellipsometry with atomic force microscopy (AFM) in the liquid study of adsorption of creatine phosphokinase (CPK) was presented. The thickness, the adsorbed amount, and the topography of the immobilized CPK layer onto silicon (Si) wafers were obtained under different pH conditions, the nature of interactions between CPK and Si wafers associated with the hydration forces control the degree of CPK unfolding upon adsorbing.

Electrochemical reversibility of vinylferrocene monolayers covalently attached on H-terminated p-Si(100)
Article Abstract:
A reversible electrochemical behavior is demonstrated on a specifically prepared redox-functionalized H-Si(100) surface, obtained through an extra-mild grafting from vinylferrocene. The results of a detailed XPS and electrochemical characterization of the resulting hybrid are reported to propose it as a reference system for high-quality electroactive monolayers on Si.
