Dissociation of water at the MgO(100)-water interface: comparison of theory with experiment
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the dissociative chemisorption of water at the MgO(100)-water interfaces. Metastable impact electron spectroscopy was carried out to image the density of occupied states on the MgO(100)/Mo(100) surface. The CECILIA computation technique was utilized to determine the geometry and energetics of states for interfacial species. Experimental results indicated that the stabilization of charged OH- and H+ interface adsorbates correlate with the polarization of the surrounding solvent.

Energy selected trimethyl phosphine ions are prepared by threshold photoelectron photoion coincidence (TPEPICO) spectroscopy. TPEPICO breakdown diagram of trimethyl phosphine, the time-of-flight distribution of the ions formed at photon energies between 10.53 and 12.73 eV, and numerous quantum calculations are described.
