Effect of electrolyte concentration on the dynamic surface tension and dilational viscoelasticity of adsorption layers of chitosan and dodecyl chitosan
Article Abstract:
The effect of electrolyte concentration on the dynamic surface tension and dilational viscoelasticity of adsorption layers of chitosan and dodecyl chitosan was investigated. It was found that for both polymers salt addition results in a decrease of the lag time of adsorption corresponding to the beginning of the formation of a gel-like network inside the adsorption layer via formation of hydrophobic cross-links between nonpolar groups.

Neutron diffraction study of Pseudomonas aeruginosa lipopolysaccharide bilayers
Article Abstract:
Neutron diffraction studies performed on aligned, self-assembled bilayers of lipopolysaccharides (LPSs) isolated from Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 is reported. This LPS system is comprised of a mixture of rough and smooth A-band and B-band LPS similar to that naturally found in Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
