Effects of the inclusion of the spin label 10-doxyl-stearic acid on the structure and dynamics of model bilayers in water: stearic acid and stearic acid/cholesterol (50:20)
Article Abstract:
Molecular dynamic simulations are used for studying the effects of the insertion of a spin-labeled 10-doxyl-stearic acid on the structure and dynamics of model lipid bilayers in gel-like as well as in liquid-ordered-like phases. The doxyl ring of the labeled molecule is located just below the cholesterol ring moiety and the change in depth of the doxyl ring has caused a reorientation of this group, leading to an increase of the order parameter with the rise in temperature.

Inclusion-mediated lipid organization in supported membranes on a patterned substrate
Article Abstract:
The influence of inclusions on the curvature and domain formation in mixed lipid bilayers supported on geometrically patterned substrate is investigated. The distribution of inclusions is found to change the curvature of the inclusion-rich lipid domains, while change in the volume fraction and inclusion size resulted in a variety of laterally organized lipid bilayers and structures.
