Theoretical study of the influence of monomer excess on the structure and properties of polyaniline oligomers
Article Abstract:
The influence of monomer excess on the structure and properties of polyaniline (PANI) oligomers and the model clusters of aniline, using Monte Carlo/AM1 simulation are investigated. Residual aniline is always detected in emeraldine samples, while the addition of oxidant to emeraldine PANI samples results in post- polymerization due to the presence of excess monomers, which is indicative of the formation of aniline-PANI complexes in the reaction medium.

Surface area and microporosity of carbon aerogels from gas adsorption and small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering measurements
Article Abstract:
A carbon aerogel is obtained by carbonization of an organic aerogel prepared by sol-gel polymerization of resorcinol and formaldehyde in water. The carbon aerogel is then CO2 activated at 800 degree Celsius to increase its surface area and widen its microporosity.
