Efficient fabrication and enhanced photocatalytic activities of 3D-ordered films of titania hollow spheres
Article Abstract:
Facile and efficient approaches are developed for the fabrication of three-dimensional (3D)-ordered films of titania hollow spheres with different sphere diameters and the influence of Ti[O.sub.2] morphology on photocatalytic activity are discussed. The results have shown that the hollow sphere morphology is convenient for creating some of the stop band effect and multiple scattering.

Rapid growth and flow-mediated nucleation of millimeter-scale aligned carbon nanotube structures from a thin-film catalyst
Article Abstract:
Growth of (vertically aligned small-diameter multiwalled carbon nanotubes) VA-MWNT films and microstructures from a Fe/Al(sub 2)O(sub 3) catalyst film deposited by electron beam evaporation is discussed. The flow profile over the sample mediates the supply of reactants to the catalyst and that pretreatment using H(sub 2) significantly affects the initial activity of the catalyst.
