Method of rapid assessment of photocatalytic activities of self-cleaning films
Article Abstract:
A study demonstrates that ink, comprising the redox dye resazurin (Rz) and the sacrificial electron donor glycerol, is capable of the rapid assessment of the photocatalytic activities of self-cleaning films. The ease with which such an assessment can be made using this intelligent ink makes it an ideal, inexpensive method to evaluate the efficacy of photocatalytic materials including the many that are utilized to create commercial products such as self-cleaning glass, tiles, and paving stones.

Core/shell quantum-dot-photosensitized nano-TiO(sub 2) films: Fabrication and application to the damage of cells and DNA
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted on a strategy for the fabrication of quantum dot (QD) photosensitized nano-TiO(sub 2) films through the use of monodisperse core/shell QD as photosensitizes. The result of bactericidal and DNA damage experiments demonstrate that photosensitized nano-TiO(sub 2) films have excellent photoactivity.
