Electrochemistry of mesoporous organosilica of MCM-41 type containing 4,4-bipyridinium units: voltammetric response and electrocatalytic effect on 1,4-dihydrobenzoquinone oxidation
Article Abstract:
Study of the electrochemistry of a novel organic-inorganic material in which 4,4-bipyridinium units (BP) are covalently attached to the walls of a periodic mesoporous organisilica (PMO) of the MCM-41 type is reported. It was observed that the electrochemical response of regular mesoporous organosilica of the MCM-41 type containing bipyridinium units covalently attached vary significantly for as-synthesized material, BP@PMO.

Enhancing stability and oxidation activity of cytochrome c by immobilization in the nanochannels of mesoporous aluminosilicates
Article Abstract:
Hydrothermally stable and structurally ordered mesoporous and microporous aluminosilicates with different pore sizes are synthesized to immobilize cytochrome c (cyt c), MAS-9, MCM-48-S, MCM-41-S and Y zeolites. Possible mechanisms for mesoporous silica (MPS)-cyt c catalytic oxidation of hyperoxides and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are proposed based on the spectroscopic characterizations of the systems.

(VO)(super 2+) ions immobilized on functionalized surface of mesoporous silica and their activity toward the hydroxylation of benzene
Article Abstract:
The amino groups of the mesoporous MCM-41 solids are used to immobilize (VO)(super 2+) ions for studying the catalytic oxidation of benzene. It was found that the vanadium peroxo complex of V(super 5+)-O-O(super .) radicals play an important role in the hydroxylation of aromatic hydrocarbons, such as from benzene to phenol.
