Electronic and ionic transports for negative charge carriers in smectic liquid crystalline photoconductor
Article Abstract:
An experiment to investigate the negative charge carrier transport in the smectic mesophase of the 2-phenylnaphthalene derivative, 6-(4'-octylphenyl)-2-dodecyloxnaphthalene (8-PNP-O12), using the time-of-flight (TOF) method is performed. The results suggest that there exist two different charge transport channels for ionic and electronic charges in an intrinsic nature of the smectic menophase.

On the calculation of supercritical fluid-solid equlibria by molecular simulation
Article Abstract:
The solubilities of naphthalene in supercritical fluids are briefly reviewed. It is shown that an accurate description and modeling of the solute solid-phase properties is a prerequisite for the determination of the solubilities of solids in supercritical fluids.

Ground-state interactions of spermine-substituted naphthalimides with mononucleotides
Article Abstract:
Water soluble spermine, spermine-naphthalimide, and pyridinium-substituted 1,8-naphthalimide derivatives are synthesized as nucleotide-specific binding agents. Both mono and bifunctionalized spermine compounds are studied.
