Electronic spectroscopy of the titanium centers in titanium silicate
Article Abstract:
Electronic absorption and emission spectroscopy was used for conducting studies related to the electronic structure of titanium centers in titanium silicate (TS-1) catalytic materials. Results indicate that the titanium site in TS-1 catalyst materials have long-lived phosphorescent excited state with a maximum at 490 nm in the near-ultraviolet (UV) region.

Evolution of V(V) species an the formation of V-O-Si bonds during the synthesis of vanadia-silica sol-gel materials
Article Abstract:
The solution chemistry of vanadium(V) species in an aqueous alcoholic silicate solution was studied by (super 51)V NMR spectroscopy. It was found that under conditions of low water, vanadium silicate species, containing V-O-Si linkages, formed immediately and remained at approximately steady-state concentration during most of the reaction.

Comment on 'photoluminescence study of the introduction of V in Si-MCM-41: Role of surface defects and their associated SiO(super -) and SiOH groups
Article Abstract:
The faults in the photoluminescence study of the introduction of V in Si-MCM-41 are highlighted. The treatment conditions for materials are inadequate for the achievement of reproducible emission spectra.
