Excitation energy transfer in tris(8-hydroxyquinolinato)aluminium doped with a pentacene derivative

Article Abstract:

The excitation energy transfer in a guest-host system consisting of a pentacene derivative, namely 6,13-bis(dimethylphenyl)pentacene, doped into tris(8-hydroxyquinolinato)aluminium is investigated using steady-state and time-resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy. Efficient nonradiative resonant Forster transfer occurs from the host to the guest molecules and factors such as the concentration-dependant transfer rate and the efficiency from the steady-state photoluminescence quantum yield and time-resolved measurements are calculated.

Structural determination of copper species on the alumina-supported copper chloride catalyst: a detailed EXAFS study

Article Abstract:

A case study of the CuCl (sub 2)/Al (sub 2) O (sub 3) material was used, which represents the basic catalyst for the ethylene oxychlorination reaction, to describe a generalization of the standard EXAFS procedure that can be of general interest in all cases, where the absorbing species is present in more than one phase. This method helps to quantify the fraction of copper species in the Cu-aluminate, copper chloride, and paratacamite (Cu2(OH)3Cl) phases as a function of copper loading and activation temperatures.

Structural analysis of ZON-type aluminophosphates by solid state NMR

Article Abstract:

Solid-state NMR spectroscopy is used to study the new aluminophosphate material AIPO4-ZON. The results demonstrate modern solid state NMR, which can reveal the structural details of powdered AIPO4-ZON materials and identify the impurities introduced during the synthesis.
