Excitation of magnetization using a modulated radiation damping field
Article Abstract:
Pulsed-field gradients were employed to modulate the radiation damping field generated by the detection coil in an NMR experiment in order that spins with significantly different chemical shifts can affect one another via the radiation damping fields. Experiments conducted on acetone/water and acetone/dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO)/water solutions show that the radiation damping field from water can selectively and substantially excite either the acetone or DMSO peaks.

The effects of gold and co-adsorbed carbon on the adsorption and thermal decomposition of acetic acid on Pt{111}
Article Abstract:
The growth and annealing behavior of ultrathin Au films on Pt{111} are monitored with scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and medium energy ion scattering (MEIS). The adsorption of acetic acid at 300 K is found to cause measurable segregation of Pd to the surface for all surface compositions tested.
