Excited triplet states in aggregates and monomers of watersoluble meso-aryl substituted porphyrins
Article Abstract:
An irregular substitution pattern in the porphyrin periphery and aggregation enables the detection of the two excited triplet states of a set of water-soluble 4-sulfonatophenyl meso-bis and meso-tetrakis. While designing the photosensitizers for the photodynamic therapy the relationship between photophysical behavior and structure of homo and heteroassociates of porphyrinoids should be taken into account.

SHG of ultrathin films of metal porphyrins on BK7 glass in total internal reflection
Article Abstract:
A novel methodology that combines a theoretical description and experimental characterization of the structure and first hyperpolarizability of ultrathin films of VO-octaethyl-porphyrins adsorbed on a BK7 activated glass is presented. This methodology obtains reasonable agreement between the observed and calculated intrinsic hyperpolarizabilities that are attributed to the dimer.

Interplay of axial ligation, hydrogen bonding, self-assembly, and conformational landscapes in high-spin Ni (II) porphyrins
Article Abstract:
The different modes of hydrogen bonding that can influence ligand interactions with neighboring functional groups and macro cycle conformations is relevant to the bioenergetic roles of porphyryn in vivo. The results indicate that point mutations in proteins, which introduce or remove residues resulting in hydrogen bonding, may not be structurally and functionally innocent.
