Solubilization of aromatic molecules in templating micelles of mesoporous silicas followed by 1H NMR
Article Abstract:
The effect of aromatic swelling agents on the pore geometry and pore size of mesoporous M41S materials is investigated, where benzene and 1,3,5-trisubstituted aromatic compounds are used as swelling agents. Benzene is incorporated and immobilized close to the surface of the micelle, whereas the more hydrophobic trisubstituted aromatic compounds are located in the hydrophobic core of the micelle, where they retain some mobility.

Effect of temperature on aluminum coordination in zeolites H-Y and H-USY and amorphous silica-alumina: An in situ AL K edge XANES study
Article Abstract:
In situ Al K edge XANES spectroscopy indicates that the fraction of octahedrally coordinated aluminum in amorphous silica-alumina (ASA) and ultrastable Y zeolite (USY) decreases with increasing temperature under vacuum. The higher the temperature, the more the tetrahedrally coordinated aluminum is formed.
