Article Abstract:

Ferro will be the first US company to produce powder coatings in China. It is taking over Ningbo Powder Coating Company and introducing its own technology at the Chinese company's factories in Ningbo and XianXiang. A main market for Ningbo is domestic appliances, the demand for which in China is growing at an annual rate of 15%. The Chinese company will be renamed Ferro Ningbo Powder Coatings Company Ltd.

US: VALSPAR TAKES ALL OF FARBOIL

Valspar Corp is expanding in the field of powder coatings by buying from its joint venture partners the remaining shares of Baltimore-based Farboil Comp with effect from 30 September 1999. The latter company generated a turnover of about US$ 17mn in the fiscal year to 31 May 1999.
