Functionalized nanoparticle films with rectifying conduction properties
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to show how heteromolecular interfaces between electron donors and acceptors of respectively functionalized nanoparticles form a rectifier. It is suggested that electronic structures for molecular rectifiers containing electron acceptor and donor groups might be assembled alternatively through appropriate nanoscale architectures using sequential deposition of functionalized nanoparticles.

Interpreting the catalytic voltammetry of an adsorbed enzyme by considering substrate mass transfer, enzyme turnover, and interfacial electron transport
Article Abstract:
The different properties of the substrate like its mass transfer and enzyme turnover are studied to interpret the catalytic voltammetry of the redox active enzymes adsorbed on the electrode surfaces. The model described provides mechanistically important information, inspite of the influence of the nonideal electron-transfer kinetics.

Effect of donor-acceptor substitution on the nonlinear optical properties of oligo(1,4-phenyleneethynylene)s studied by third harmonic generation spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
Third-harmonic generation (THG) spectroscopy was performed 1,4-phenyleneethynylene)s (OPEs) with terminal donor-acceptor (DA) substitution. The results are compared of donor substituted OPEs and regular OPE chains with 2,5-dipropoxy benzene rings.
