Influence of the environment on the photoinduced electron transfer: Comparison between organized monolayer at the air-water interface and monolayer assemblies on glass
Article Abstract:
A study to investigate photoinduced electron transfer (PET) in organized monolayers at the air-water interface and monolayer assemblies on the glass in an effort to evaluate the influence of solvent reorganization and molecular dynamics on PET was conducted. The studies revealed that PET was characterized by the critical radius according to the hard disk model, which is much more efficient in monolayer assemblies than in air-water interface.

Electronic and spectra of catechol and alizarin in the gas phase and attached to titanium
Article Abstract:
A study of the defect-free gamma-V2O5(001) surface and ordered structures of oxygen vacancies is presented for a wide range of defect concentrations, theta, combining density functional theory and statistical thermodynamics. It concludes that the gamma-V2O5 might be used as a model system to study selective oxidation, since, the reducibility of this phase is lower than that of the alpha-V2O5 phase.
