Kinetic analysis of fast hydrogenase reaction of Desulfovibrio vulgaris cells in the presence of exogenous electron acceptors
Article Abstract:
The H2 oxidation reaction catalyzed by Desulfovibrio (D.) vulgaris cells was measured with quinone compounds as exogenous electron acceptors. Calculations based on the model has revealed that the diffusion towards the cell surface is the slowest step of the mass transfer processes and that the rates of the catalytic reaction are large enough to be close to the rates of the substrate diffusion.

Proton mobility in chabazite, faujasite, and ZSM-5 zeolite catalysts. Comparison based on ab initio calculations
Article Abstract:
Proton-transfer reaction rates and rate constants for proton jump processes in the protonated forms of chabazite, faujasite and ZSM-5 zeolites are presented on the basis of ab initio predictions. Results indicate the presence of low and high barriers in the three zeolites and lower proton mobility in zeolites chabazite and faujasite than in ZSM-5.

Probing the surface polarity of various silicas and other moderately strong solid acids by means of different genuine solvatochromic dyes
Article Abstract:
Reichardt's E(sub T)(30) as well as the Kamlet-Taft's solvent parameters alpha and pi can be used as reference system to characterize empirically the surface polarity of moderately strong solid acids. The values of polarity parameters of strong HBD and dipolar surfaces are strongly influenced by the experimental conditions applied.
