Kinetics of the reaction of adsorbed hexamethyldisilane on C/Pt(111) with D atoms: Si-Si bond breaking
Article Abstract:
Thermal desorption spectroscopy was used for studying the adsorption of hexamethyldisilane (HMDS) and trimethylsilane (H-TMS) on graphite monolayers on Pt-(110) surfaces and reaction product detection techniques were used for investigating the kinetics of reactions of gaseous D atoms with adsorbed H-TMS and HMDS. Molecular adsorption and desorption were observed and D-TMs was revealed as the only product between 85 and 170 K, that was formed due to the reaction of D atoms with HMDs layers.

Calculation of the vibrational spectra of linear tetrapyrroles. 2. Resonance Raman spectra of hexamethylpyrromethene monomers
Article Abstract:
The monomeric hexamethylpyrromethene (HMPM) adopts a planar structure in contrast to HMPM dimers in which the intermolecular hydrogen-bonding interactions induce a slight torsion of the methine bridges as revealed by both the experimental and the calculated structures. The resonance Raman spectra of monomeric HMPM were measured upon excitation in resonance with the strong 436 nm absorption band.

In-situ observation of pi-allyl c-C6H9 intermediate during high-pressure cyclohexene catalytic reactions on Pt(111) using sum frequency generation vibrational spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
The surface vibrational sum frequency generation (SFG) was used to identify surface species in situ during catalytic reactions of 1.5 Torr cyclohexane (C6H10) in the presence and absence of 15 Torr H2 on Pt(111) crystal surfaces. It reports the existence of pi-allyl c-C6H9 as a major surface species in the presence of high-pressure cyclohexene and H2 on Pt(111).
