Kinetics of silver particle photogeneration in crosslinked PVA/PAA films

Article Abstract:

The photogeneration of Ag particles and clusters with 350 nm photons is studied in thin films containing poly(vinyl alcohol) and poly(acrylic acid) that are crosslinked with glutaraldehyde. Mechanisms based on growth of cationic metal clusters provide the most realistic representations of the processes taking place in the films, including the formation of stable Ag(super +)(sub 3) clusters as byproducts of the metal crystallite generation.

Growth mechanism of AgCl nanoparticles in a reverse micelle system

Article Abstract:

It is shown that growth of particles in the reverse micelle (RM) system proceeded through Ostwald ripening and that the particle size was determined by the overall solubility of the solid in the RM system, and the diffusivity of the RM and not by the water pools of the RM, on the basis of the data analyzed on the double jet technique.

Monte Carlo simulations of Ag(super +) and Ag in aqueous solution. Redox potential of the Ag(super +)/Ag couple

Article Abstract:

Monte Carlo simulations of the Ag(super +) cation and of the Ag atom in water are performed at 298 K. The redox potential of the Ag(super +)/Ag couple is calculated and is estimated to be -2.3 V/NHE.
