Local atomic structure of partially ordered NiMn in Nimn/NiFe exchange-coupled layers: 2. electronic structure calculations

Article Abstract:

Local electronic and magnetic structure calculations for NiMn exchange bias alloys for clusters containing NiMn in both the chemically disordered face-centered cubic and the chemically and magnetically ordered L10 phases are reported. The calculations are consistent with the local structure measurements that point toward the existence of nanometer-scale ordered clusters at the beginning stages of chemical ordering.

Coherent versus uncorrelated nanoscale heterogeneities in L[1sub.0] solid solutions and their signatures from local and extended probes

Article Abstract:

An example of NiMn system is used to investigate the structural properties of the phase coexistence of chemically ordered L[1.sub.0] and chemically disordered structures within binary alloys. The analytical and numerical evidence confirms there is a well-defined tetragonal distortion within localized domains that fall below the diffraction limit.

Structural, magnetic, and magnetoresistive properties of electrodeposited Ni5Zn21 alloy nanowires

Article Abstract:

Ni5Zn21 alloy nanowires are fabricated through template-assisted electrochemical deposition method. Scanning electron microscope results reveal that Ni5Zn21 nanowires are deposited in most of the nanopores of the template, and they are continuous and dense throughout the whole length.
