Metal particle size and structure of the metal-support interface of carbon-supported platinum catalysts as determined with EXAFS spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The metal particle size and structure of the metal-support interface of platinum supported on Vulcan XC-72 and on carbon nanofibers (CNF) are determined with extended X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy (EXAFS). The CNF-supported Pt catalysts were synthesized using a homogeneous deposition precipitation (HDP) method.

Computational studies of electron paramagnetic resonance parameters for paramagnetic molybdenum complexes. 1. Method validation on small and medium-sized systems

Article Abstract:

The molybdenum hyperfine tensors and g-tensors of [Mo.sup.v] systems can be well reproduced by hybrid DFT methods. However it suffers from some limitations like, the parallel g-tensor component comes out insufficiently negative in treatments that include spin-orbit coupling only to leading order in perturbation theory.

High-resolution electron tomography study of an industrial Ni-Mo/gamma-A[l.sub.2][O.sub.3] hydrotreating catalyst

Article Abstract:

A report is presented for the first time on the application of high-resolution electron tomography to a complex industrial Ni-Mo/gamma-A[L.sub.2][O.sub.3] catalyst. Electron tomography is a unique tool to study the actual 3D structure of complex industrial catalysts with sub-nanometer resolution.
