Carbon nanotube bundles as molecular assemblies for the detection of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons: Surface-enhanced resonance Raman Spectroscopy and theoretical studies
Article Abstract:
Surface enhanced Raman spectroscopic experiments were used to demonstrate that metallic single-walled carbon nanotubes (CTs) could be used as chemical assemblies between the pyrene analyte and the silver colloidal surface. The polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) pyrene-nanotube interaction occurs through a [pi]-[pi] electronic stacking and energy transfer from the silver surface to the analyte system is observed.

Electronic and molecular structures of trigonal truxene-core systems conjugated to peripheral fluorene branches: Spectroscopic and theoretical study
Article Abstract:
The series of trigonal molecules made up of a central truxene core with peripheral oligofluorene branches of variable lengths is analyzed for molecular and electronic features. The electronic interactions are found to be the functions of some key intensity ratios in the Raman spectra.
