Model of an asymmetric DPPC/DPPS membrane: Effect of asymmetry on the lipid properties. A molecular dynamics simulation study
Article Abstract:
A molecular dynamics simulation of a bilayer membrane with an asymmetric distribution of phospholipids was conducted with the aim of elucidating the way in which this asymmetry is propagated from one leaflet to the other one. The model of an asymmetric lipid bilayer can be used for further studies of systems of great biophysical relevance like lipid-protein or anesthetic molecules embedded in an asymmetric lipid membrane.

Protecting peroxidase activity of multilayer enzyme-polyion films using outer catalase layers
Article Abstract:
The construction of catalase-protected {protein/hyaluronic acid (HA)} films with an increased linear concentration range for [H.sub.2][O.sub.2] detection is demonstrated. The method could be applied to protect biosensors from damage of [H.sub.2][O.sub.2].
