Kinetic study for complexation between alpha-cycodextrin and alcohols in water by the ultrasonic relaxation method
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze complexation between alpha-cyclodextrin and alcohols in water using the ultrasonic relaxation technique. alpha-Cyclodextrin was recrystallized in water and was dried in a vacuum oven. 1-Propanol and ethanol were then distilled at normal pressure. Experimental results indicated that the forward rate constant was not dependent on the size of the cyclodextrin cavity or the structure of the alcohols.

Kinetic study for the inclusion complex of carboxylic acids with cyclodextrin by the ultrasonic relaxation method
Article Abstract:
The relation between the number of carbon atoms in many carboxylic acids and the stability of the inclusion complex are investigated. The results have indicated that the hydrophobicity of guest molecules have played a vital role in the formation of the inclusion complex and also that the charge on the carboxylic groups had a considerable effect on the kinetic characteristics of the complexation reaction.
