Molecular simulation for flexibility of a single clay layer

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to simulate the dynamic of a single clay layer (beidellite) by the (NVT) ensemble molecular dynamics method when the layer is placed under the external stress. The results concluded that the main origin of flexibility lies in the change of Si-O-Si angles in the silicate tetrahedral sheets rather than in the change of bond lengths.

Sensing of molecular chirality on an electrode modified with a clay-metal complex hybrid film

Article Abstract:

A chiral sensing electrode is prepared by coating an indium tin oxide (ITO) substrate with a hybrid film of metal complexes and a clay layer. Mechanisms for chiral sensing effect were explained in terms of the stereoselective binding of 1,1'-2-binapthol with adsorbed A-[Os(phen)3](sub 2+) on a clay surface.

Orientation tuning of a polypyridyl Ru(II) complex immobilized on a clay surface toward chiral discrimination

Article Abstract:

An attempt is made to elucidate a stereoselective energy-transfer system by immobilizing a chiral metal complex on a clay surface. The adsorption structure of [Ru(bpy)2Li](super 2+) is studied by means of electric dichorism measurements on an aqueous dispersion of colloidal clay.
