Observation of diffusion and tunneling recombination of dye-photoinjected electrons in ultrathin TiO2 layers by surface photovoltage transients
Article Abstract:
The short time dynamics and the spatial distribution of electrons photoinjected in thin TiO2 layers from dye molecules adsorbed at the surface were examined with the help of surface photovoltage transients. The thickness dependence of the decays indicated the retardation of the dynamics of surface recombination by the diffusion of electrons toward the interior of the film for high temperatures of 250 - 540 K.

Surface enhanced second harmonic generation from macrocycle, catenane, and rotaxane thin films: Experiments and theory
Article Abstract:
Surface enhanced second harmonic generation (SE SHG) experiments on molecular structures, macrocycles, catenanes, and rotaxanes, deposited as monolayers and multilayers by vacuum sublimation on silver, are reported. The study shows that catenanes and rotaxanes represent a new class of potentially interesting molecules with mobile parts for application in photonics.
