On the interaction of bare and hydrated aluminum ion with nucleic acid bases (U, T, C, A, G) and monophosphate nucleotides (UMP, dTMP, dCMP, dAMP, dGMP)
Article Abstract:
The BeLYP/6-311+G(2df,2p) density functional approach was used to study the interaction that aluminum trication in the bare and hydration forms, establishes with the nucleic acid bases and the corresponding monophosphate nucleotides. Equilibrium geometry of all possible complexes resulting from the attachment of the ion on the different binding sites selected on each ligand is determined.

Photoinduced electron transfer in nucleic acid molten salts
Article Abstract:
DNA molten salts containing varying quantities of guanine, wherein small amounts of photoactive metal complexes can be dissolved is developed. The findings stated that an average electron transfer rate constant at full guanine loading was 7 x 10(super 6) s(super -1), which implies an average electron transfer distance of 12.5 armstrong (center- to- center).

Energy migration in Ru (II)- and Os (II)-based antenna polymer embedded in a disordered, rigid medium
Article Abstract:
The energy migration dynamics in multi-centered assemblies embedded in poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) films using different emission techniques are described. As the energy migration proceeds towards the lower energy sites, it results in a time-dependent re-shift in the polymer emission band.
