On the necessity of using activities in the Gibbs equation

Suggestions are presented that the use of mole fractions X(s) instead of activities a(s) in the Gibbs equation for determining surface tension curves for onset of amphiphilic association are debatable.

Stable silver clusters and nanoparticles prepared in polyacrylate and inverse micellar solutions

The synthesis of silver nanoparticles using inverse micellar solutions of the nonionic surfactant Laureth 4 and water, and using solutions of AgNO3 and NaBH4 as the aqueous phase, is described.
