Photophysical property and photostability of J-aggregate thin films of thiacyanine dyes prepared by the spin-coating method
Article Abstract:
The conventional spin-coating method is developed for preparing stable J-aggregate thin films by using the electrostatic interaction between dye molecule and poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDDA). The results have shown that the photodegradation processes induced by oxygen are suppressed in the J-aggregate thin films and the quantum yield of the active oxygen species is lower in the J-aggregate thin film than that of the dye thin film.

Effect of a reduced mobility layer on the interplay between molecular relaxations and diffusion-limited crystallization rate in ultrathin polymer films
Article Abstract:
The effect of the reduced mobility layer at the interface with the substrate on the crystallization rate in ultrathin polymer films is analyzed. The films have shown higher glass stability in terms of an increase of the cold crystallization temperature and of the crystallization time and the deviations from bulk behavior have vanished above a crossover temperature.
