Photophysical properties and photocatalytic activities of bismuth molybdates under visible light irradiation
Article Abstract:
The photophysical and photocatalytic properties of oxides consisting of a [Bi.sup.3+] ion with 6[s.sup.2] configuration and [Mo.sup.6+] ion with 4[d.sup.0] configuration were studied to develop photocatalysts with visible light response. The photocatalytic activity of the Aurivilllius structure B[i.sub.2]Mo[O.sub.6] prepared by the reflux method was dependent on the annealing temperature after the preparation.

Photocatalytic H2 evolution under visible-light irradiation over band-structure-controlled (CuIn)(sub x)Zn[sub (2(1-x))]S2 solid solutions
Article Abstract:
A study carried out on the (CuIn)(sub x)Zn[sub (2(1-x))]S2 solid solutions between a ZnS photocatalyst with a wide band gap and CuInS2 with a narrow band gap is presented. The results show photocatalytic activities for hydrogen evolution from aqueous solution containing sacrificial reagents SO(sub 3)(super 2-) and S(super 2-) under visible-light irradiation (lambda greater than or equal to 420 nm).
