Most farmers are hesitant to adopt site-specific soil and crop management systems because of the high costs of implementation, the learning curve involved and the shift to unfamiliar way of doing things. These are hindrances that farmers will sure to encounter but they should also consider the benefits that site-specific farming can provide them. They are reminded that this agriculture technology can help them meet customers increasing demands.

CFBF brings chemical theft to light
Article Abstract:
Rising crop protection product theft in California has prompted the California Farm Bureau Federation to call for greater awareness and communication to control the problem. The agency urges farmers to participate in the Owner Applied Number identification program to help law enforcement agencies recover stolen chemical and farm equipment. Farmers are advised to stamp their chemical containers with a personal identifying number.
