Protein binding onto surfactant-based synthetic vesicles
Article Abstract:
Several studies are conducted to gather more information about the biopolymer protein binding onto surfactant-based synthetic vesicles, which are prepared by mixing anionic and cationic surfactants and are easily neutralized by adsorbed protein. The results show that the energy effects for charge neutralization and double-layer contributions are much stronger than those associated with counterion exchange and dehydration terms and hence contribute dominantly to the system stability.

Dielectric behavior of aqueous micellar solutions of betaine-type surfactants
Article Abstract:
The dielectric behavior for aqueous solutions of the betaine-type surfactants dodecyldimethylcarbobetaine (C12DCB), tetradecyldimethylcarbobetaine (C14DCB), cetyldimethylcarbobetaine (C16DCB), and oleyldimethylcarbobetaine (OleyDCB) was studied. The findings suggest that the zwitterionic headgroup rotating on the micellar surface possesses a dipole moment with a magnitude essentially the same as that of glycine betaine in aqueous solutions.

Structure and dynamics of polymer-surfactant complexes: dielectric relaxation studies
Article Abstract:
The isothermal phase diagram of the system composed of water, sodium dodecyl sulfate, and hexadecyltrimethylammonium polyacrylate, PACTA, at 25 degree Celsius, was investigated by dielectric relaxation, ionic conductivity and viscosity. The results support the hypothesis of a necklace structure for the polymer-micelle complex.
