Relaxation dynamics in glycerol-water mixtures: I. Glycerol-rich mixtures
Article Abstract:
The relaxation dynamics of glycerol-water mixtures, as studied by dielectric spectroscopy in the frequency range from 1Hz to 250MHz and at temperatures between 173 and 323 K are discussed. The experimental results obtained for the glycerol-rich mixtures suggest that the main dielectric relaxation process, as well as the so-called high-frequency 'excess-wing' and dc conductivity, follow the same molecular origin.

The true Johari-Goldstein [beta]-relaxation of monosaccharides
Article Abstract:
Techniques including dielectric relaxation and enthalpy relaxation are used to investigate the molecular relaxation dynamics of glucose and, fructose in their liquids and glassy states. The results indicate that the slower secondary relaxation bears relations to the [alpha]-relaxation, and hence, it is the true Johari-Goldstein secondary relaxation of the monosaccharides.

Chair-chair conformational flexibility of monosaccharides linked to the anomer equilibrium
Article Abstract:
Broadband acoustic relaxation spectrometry with time resolved sonic alternation coefficient measurements of monosaccharides with nonequilibrium tautomer concentrations in water are experimented. Its presence depends upon the anomeric form, reflecting the balance of axial and equatorial hydroxy groups of saccharide ring, as predicted theoretically.
