Article Abstract:
The 1998 Third Annual Dealership Precision Adoption Survey, which concentrates on the leaders of the precision agriculture movement, provides an insight as to the direction being taken by the leading precision dealers in adopting technologies and changes in the industry. The survey was sponsored by FARM CHEMICALS magazine and Purdue University's Center for Agricultural Business. The precision leaders continue to expand their service offerings and hope to continue growth in the agricultural market among growers and retail agronomic dealerships. Other dealerships are expected to learn from their experiences in regards to decisions on if, when and how to move into the precision field.

The sale of enhanced seeds in the US will continue to increase in the future despite the present uncertainty regarding consumer acceptance about biotechnology products. The 5th Annual Precision Ag and Enhanced Seed Dealership Survey, conducted by the Center for Agricultural Business of Purdue University in cooperation with Farm Chemicals magazine, reports that respondent dealerships continue to be optimistic about the future of bio-engineered seed products.

The 2000 Precision Agriculture and Enhanced Seed Dealership Survey reports that the adoption of precision technology in the US agriculture sector continued its growth despite a difficult 1999. The survey, sponsored by Trimble Navigation Ltd of Overland Park, KS, the Center for Agricultural Business of Purdue University and 'Farm Chemicals' magazine, also forecasted the faster acceptance of precision-farming concepts by growers compared to dealerships.
