Vibrational energy relaxation of isotopically labeled amide I modes in cytochrome c: theoretical investigation of vibrational energy relaxation rates and pathways
Article Abstract:
A time-dependent perturbation theory was used for examining the vibrational energy relaxation (VER) of amide I modes in cytochrome c solvated with water. Findings reveal the relaxation of the amide I modes in protein with subpicosecond time scales.

Excited-state axial-ligand photodissociation and nonpolar protein-matrix reorganization in Zn(II)-substituted cytochrome c
Article Abstract:
Picosecond time-resolved fluorescence spectra obtained from Zn(II)-substituted cytochrome c (ZnCytc ) over the 100-ps to 12-ns time scale is obtained. The role of the protein-matrix in the photodissociation reaction in ZnCytc is studied.
